Fragments of “Chnchik” film by Shahbazyan presented at Cannes film market May 16, 2011 - 10:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Cannes film market hosted screening of fragments of the draft version of Chnchik film by Armenian filmmaker Aram Shahbazyan. The film is currently at post-production phase. Dutch co-producer of the film Els Vandevorst said the film editing will be launched on June 1. Representatives of Russian and Czech cinema companies and studios were present at the screening. According to Director of the National Cinema Center of Armenia Gevorg Gevorgyan, fragments of other films, which are at post-production stage and need partners, will be screened at the Cannes film market as well. Aram Shahbazyan, who is in Cannes with the Armenian delegation, noted that he deals only with the creative part of the film and relies on producers Ara Mnatsakanyan and Melik Karapetyan in all other matters. “Currently, the film has financial problems and the screening may serve as an opportunity for finding new partners to finish the film,” the press service of the National Cinema Center of Armenia quoted Shahbazyan as saying.
