PARLIAMENT OF AZERBAIJAN IS GOING TO CONDEMN THE FACTS OF INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

PanARMENIAN.Net - 01.02.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan is going to pass on February 2 a document to express Azerbaijan's position in connection with the recently recognized Armenian Resolutions, speaker of Azeri parliament Murtuz Aleskerov stated today, as "Trend" reports.

He thinks that passing resolutions, recognizing the Armenian Genocide, hampers the fair settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Besides, consideration of such questions is aimed at preventing Turkey from accession to the European Union, the speaker said.

Deputy Ali Kerimov, representing People's front party of Azerbaijan, said that Azerbaijan must demonstrate its "firm position". One of such steps may become the demand to exclude France from the OSCE Minsk group, Kerimov thinks. -0-
