689 ECONOMIC CRIMES WERE EXPOSED IN ARMENIA IN 2000

PanARMENIAN.Net - 19.01.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The law enforcement bodies of Armenia exposed 689 cases of economic crime in 2000, said today at a press conference in Yerevan head of the department of combating corruption of the Chief Office for organized crime prevention of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia Ghevond Krmoyan.

According to Krmoyan, there are 226 property theft cases, 48 post abuse and 36 cases of bribery. Krmoyan noted that bribe rate varied from 500 to 20 thousand U.S. dollars, depending on the post and the offered services. -0-
