ROBERT KOCHARIAN: MUTUAL ECONOMIC INTERESTS MAY PROMOTE KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT

The President of Armenia Robert Kocharian received January 10 the delegation of the German Bundestag headed by deputy chairman of the Union of Christian-Democratic faction, ex defense minister Folker Ruhe, Mediamax was informed in the press office of the President of Armenia.

The President was pleased with the present level of Armenian-German relations and noted that Armenia attaches much importance to further development of relations with Germany and may become its reliable partner in the region.

During the meeting the current stage of peace settlement of the Karabakh conflict and regional tasks were discussed. Robert Kocharian noted the special importance of direct talks between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as bilateral meetings at various levels in the matter of peace achievement. In President Kocharian's opinion economic cooperation and mutual economic interests, which will help build mutual trust between the parties, may much favor the settlement of the conflict. -0-
