CoE MINISTERIAL COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN TO VISIT YEREVAN ON JANUARY 4

PanARMENIAN.Net - 26.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The Chairman of the Council of Europe Ministerial Committee, Foreign Minister of Latvia Indulis Berzins will arrive in Yerevan on January 4, 2001, Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian said today at a press conference in Yerevan.

The question of the final registration of Armenia's full membership in the Council of Europe will be discussed during the visit of Latvian Foreign Minister, Oskanian said.

"We hope Azerbaijan will manage to fulfill all the conditions laid before him by the Council of Europe by the end of January. However, Armenia will insist on being accepted to the CE by the end of January 2001, irrespective of Azerbaijan," Oskanian stressed. -0-
