THE MEETING OF THE OSCE COMMISSION ON PRISONERS-OF-WAR AND MISSING PERSONS IS TO BE HELD IN YEREVAN BY THE END OF THE YEAR

PanARMENIAN.Net - 27.11.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The Mixed Commission on Prisoners-of-War (POW) and Missing Persons, created under the umbrella of the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, is planning to meet in Yerevan by the end of the year.

As was reported to Mediamax in the press service of the OSCE, this is stated in the annual report 2000 on OSCE activities, issued today in Vienna.

The report notes that in summer 2000 the RNK leadership responded positively to the request by the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office to unconditionally release all Azeri POWs.

The document notes that positive changes are observed in the parties' attitude concerning the co-operation on humanitarian issues and the progress in this field, in its turn, has had a positive effect on the negotiation process. -0-
