Exchange, depository conference opens in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - The 8th joint conference of the Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (AECSD) and International Association of Exchanges of CIS Countries (IAEx of CIS) titled “Global Opportunities of Local Markets: Infrastructure and Management” kicked off in Yerevan on October 6.

“The topic of the conference is timely given the ongoing integration processes,” said Konstantin Saroyan, acting director general of Nasdaq OMX Armenia. “Each country has been developing its own approaches and solutions. I would like this conference to become a unique platform for cooperation of exchanges and depositories.”

The organizers of the event, which brought together representatives of the central depositories and exchanges from CIS countries as well as managers from Thomas Murray, SWIFT, Vnesheconombank, Euroclear, Clearstream, etc., are the Central Depositary of Armenia (CDA) and Nasdaq OMX Armenia.

Mr. Saroyan expressed hope that the conference will have a logical continuation.
