Sarkozy: the sooner Yerevan and Baku resume Karabakh talks the better

PanARMENIAN.Net - The sooner Armenia and Azerbaijan resume talks on resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict the better, French President said.

“Inactivity can lead to war. Thus, the only solution for Armenians and Azerbaijanis is to continue talks in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, with establishment of peace as the main goal of negotiations,” Nicolas Sarkozy said during a press conference in Yerevan when asked to comment on the fact that Azerbaijan uses the profit gained from EU regional energy programs to buy new arms.

As to possible energy programs in Armenia, Mr. Sarkozy said a French delegation will arrive in Armenia in the near future to investigate possibilities of peaceful use of nuclear energy. “Armenia needs it,” he said.
