DigiТec 2011 international exhibit kicks off in YerevanOctober 7, 2011 - 12:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The 7th annual international Digitec Information and Telecommunication Technologies Expo kicked off October 7 in Yerevan’s Sports and Concert Complex. Digitec Expo 2011 was opened by Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) director Karen Vardanyan and VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian. As the Prime Minister said in his opening speech, “currently, IT and telecommunications companies, operating in Armenia have 5500 and 10000 employees resp. With IT sector announced as key priority in Armenian economy, rapid development in information technologies is reported in the country, with 70% growth in number of Digitec Expo participants proving the fact above.” According to Prime Minister, annual investments in Armenia’s IT sector gross USD 200 mln. 115 companies from Russia, Georgia, Singapore, Poland, Taiwan applied for participation with the following companies among exhibit participants: VivaCell-MTS, Ucom, Maxtronic, Unicomp, Microsoft, GNC Alfa, Redinet, Synopsys, X-Art, Instigate, ArmSoft, Epygi, Enterprise Incubator Foundation, Nork, Innovative Solutions, Ovak Technologies, Rafa Solutions, Engineering starts in High-school, IP Protection legal firm, LuxBrok, Museum of Science & Technology. 18000 prospective visitors are expected at the exhibit. The UITE-organized event will be held under the aegis of Armenian Prime Minister, with VivaCell-MTS as a platinum sponsor.
