Sanctions may be imposed on Georgia due to Upper Lars checkpoint

PanARMENIAN.Net - If Armenian cargo transportation through Upper Lars checkpoint is hampered international sanctions may be imposed on Georgia as a transit country, head of the Armenian Union of Local Manufacturers said.

According to Vazgen Safaryan, this issue will be discussed during Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s Nov 29-30 visit to Georgia.

Safaryan also noted that construction of Iran-Armenia railway should be accelerated to prevent Upper Lars checkpoint from becoming a subject of political speculation.
