ARMENIAN FM EXPOSED HIS AZERI COUNTERPART FALSEHOOD

PanARMENIAN.Net - Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian called falsehood and revisionism the statement made in Maastricht by his Azeri counterpart Vilayat Guliyev that consensus over the content of the final document of the OSCE Council of Ministers over the Karabakh problem was never reached. In Oskanian's words, November 30 in the presence of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office Andrzej Kasprzyk foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan discussed the text and came to a certain consensus over the document content. Only the question whether the statement over the Nagorno Karabakh problem will be used in the final document of the Council of Ministers remained open. As reported by OSCE sources, Vardan Oskanian and Vilayat Guliyev came to agreement that the statement over Karabakh will be used in the case the final document includes statements over other conflicts, too, specifically the Transdniestrian and the Georgian-Abkhazian ones. Vardan Oskanian regretted Vilayat Guliyev distorting facts, noting "it creates mistrust between the parties, which have to continue negotiations over settlement of the conflict."
