Rosatom head: Armenian govt must control new power unit

PanARMENIAN.Net - On Feb 7, Rosatom corporation director Sergei Kiriyenko has voiced confidence for Armenian Government to control the new unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant.

Dwelling on financing of the new power unit construction, Mr. Kiriyenko noted Russia’s readiness to discuss its investments amounting to 20-25%, with 20% provided by the Armenian side, and remaining 60% planned to be attracted from international companies.

Armenia plans to construct a new 1000 MW power unit at the place of the existing NPP. According to RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the project may cost USD 5-6 bln.
