Princess Diana’s Valentine’s day card for sale

Princess Diana’s Valentine’s day card for sale

PanARMENIAN.Net - A Valentine’s day card sent by Diana, Princess of Wales is up for sale - for a hefty £8,000, The Sun reported.

The love token – which features a teddy bear in a dress on the front – was addressed to 'George' and sent by the much-loved Royal in 1989, when she was still married to Prince Charles.

But the card was NOT a romantic gesture to a lover. Instead it was a practical JOKE sent to loveless employees at the Royal household. George, whose surname has not been released by his family, is believed to have worked as a footman and valet for Prince Charles.

It is now up for sale after his family decided to part with it to help fund a new life abroad, following his recent death.

The pink card - which measures 18x13cm - comes from the 1989 Andrew Brownsword collection and is called "Lady Di by Dino..."

It shows a teddy bear jumping among pink hearts and the printed message, "Hey Valentine! Not Many Men Receive a Valentine's Card From Princess Diana."

Inside the message concludes, "And You're One of Them", and the Princess has written "to George, from Diana!"

Mark Riddle, who owns Memorabilia UK, said: "You can only imagine the potential worth of this Diana Valentine card in say 100 years time. "Like many rare collectables it is a hard thing to accurately value, but we are currently pricing it at £7995."
