Armenian President, Frontex head discuss border control

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with Executive Director of Frontex, the European Union’s border protection agency Ilkka Laitinen.

The parties discussed issues related to border control implementation, stressing deepening of cooperation in the field.

President Sargsyan called Laitinen’s attention to forthcoming border control reforms, voicing hope for Frontex assistance to foster effective reform implementation.

Head of Frontex, in turn, noted that cooperation agreement will be reached with Armenia in the framework of the visit.

Delegation from Frontex, headed by its Executive Director, Mr. Ilkka Laitinen, arrived in Armenia on a three-day visit, during which delegates are due to meet Secretary of the National Security Council, Arthur Baghdasaryan, presidential press service reported.
