The national final included 14 presentations with Emmanuel conquering the jury choice. 16-year old Emmanuel Tjeknavorian will play the violin at the competition. A jury consisting of Raimund Langner, Ranko Markovic, Maighréad McCrann, Christian Scheib and Elke Tschaikner listened to performances by all fourteen young contenders in the Austrian final, before selecting Emmanuel Tjeknavorian as the winner. Emmanuel Tjeknavorian was born to a family of musicians, and currently studies in Vienna.
