TENSION BETWEEN TBILISI AND BATUMI CAN DESTABILIZE WHOLE SOUTH CAUCASUS, YEREVAN CONSIDERS

PanARMENIAN.Net - The tension between the central Georgian authorities and Adzharian leadership can destabilize the situation throughout the South Caucasus, chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Commission for Defense, National Security and Home Affairs Mher Shakhgeldian told Mediamax agency today. At the same time he expressed hope that the contradictions available between Tbilisi and Batumu will be settled peacefully. In Mher Shakhgeldian's words, Armenia cannot remain indifferent to the situation in Adzharia, as Armenian community numbering thousands of people resides in this Georgian autonomy.
