FRENCH SOCIALIST LEADER AGAIN DEMANDED THAT TURKISH LEADERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary General of the Socialist Party of France Francois Hollande has again demanded that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan acknowledge the Armenian Genocide - as a precondition for accession to the EU. As written by Milliyet Turkish newspaper, it was spoken about at the yesterday's meeting of Hollande and Erdogan on the last day of the latter's visit to France. When commenting on the stand of the party after the meeting, its leader reminded journalists that in its time the French Parliament passed a law demanding to recognize the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey. In his words, in compliance with the law, Socialists have introduced the precondition of acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide into the agenda of coming discussions over Turkey's accession to the EU, although EU Copenhagen standards keep silent about it.
