US Advises Its Citizens to Keep Aloof from Rallies in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - US has advised its citizens being in Armenia to avoid rallies in Yerevan scheduled before November 27 constitutional referendum, as these may be accompanied by violence. «The scale and moods of the rallies are unlooked-for, thus the US Embassy in Armenia urges its citizens to avoid rally venues,» says the warning. The message expresses concern over opposition calls to people to take part in rallies November 24-25. «Take into account that the rallies may affect traffic at adjacent streets,» the warning says. It should be noted that a rally organized by Heritage party will be held in the Liberty Square in Yerevan November 25, while the united opposition rallies start November 27. «Citizens should also be informed that before the weekend new rallies may be organized,» the statement notes, reported RFE/RL.
