Sargsyan: Gas Price Has Nothing in Common with Russian Military Base

PanARMENIAN.Net - "During today's talks we came to a conclusion that the military cooperation between Armenia and Russia is rapidly developing," Armenian Defense Minister Serge Sargsyan stated at today's joint press conference with Russian MOD head Sergey Ivanov. When asked whether Armenia can demand rental fee for the Russian military base in view of the raising tariffs for the Russian gas Serge Sargsyan said the issue has not been raised yet. "One should not hurry with conclusions since the talks are still underway and the price for gas has nothing in common with the Russian military base," the Minister stated adding that the base is the guarantor of Armenia's security. "I can assure you the base gives more benefit than harm," Serge Sargsyan noted.
