Kocharian: Nothing Tragic Happened in Rambouillet

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Nothing tragic happened in Rambouillet. We did not manage to agree over an important principle. However, this is not the first time - in the course of all our meetings there have always been points, over which we agreed, however there were those, over which we did not manage to come to agreement. There is a question - where disappointment comes from? I am sure it is due to excessive expectations," Armenian President Robert Kocharian stated in an interview with central TV channels of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. In his words, first of all, these expectations issued from optimistic statements, made before the Rambouillet meeting by mediators, as well as international organizations. "This expectations were also due to the fact of our private meeting in Rambouillet," the President remarked. In his words, French President's invitation and his participation also resulted in certain expectations. All of these led to an atmosphere, in which everyone expected a culmination, a conclusion, but it was not the case.
