Armenia Stance on Nuclear Energy to Be Discussed in WashingtonMarch 16, 2006 - 15:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's stance on nuclear energy will be discussed in Washington, US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel Fried stated at a news conference in Yerevan today. In his words, at present Europe and US actively consider the matter of diversification of energy resources. At that Fried remarked he found difficulty to say, which will the final decision be in general, as in case of Armenia in particular. "Armenian leaders state they are interested in new, secure and commercially viable sources of nuclear energy. I acquainted myself with their stance and I am going to present it for consideration in Washington,» the American diplomat said.![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
