Kocharian: Soonest Ratification of Armenia-EU Action Plan Important

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian met with the delegation of the Armenia-EU parliamentary committee, RA leader's press office reported. Noting the importance of soonest ratification of the Armenia-EU Action Plan within the European Neighborhood Policy Robert Kocharian said it will offer a wider possibility for coordinated and purposeful relations with the European Union. "We see Armenia's future in efficient government and economic system and this can be achieved via thorough and wide-ranging reforms," the RA President emphasized. By the guests' request the Armenian leader briefed on the Nagorno Karabakh settlement process and Armenia's position on the issue. The parties also referred to the situation with Iran and the Armenian-Turkish relations. In this view Robert Kocharian remarked that Armenia is ready to establish relations with Turkey without preconditions. Besides, the interlocutors marked the importance of deepening democratic processes in Armenia, organization and conduction of upcoming elections according to European standards.
