RA FM Rules Out Haggle on Karabakh between Baku and WashingtonApril 19, 2006 - 17:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - In an interview with Haykakan Jamanak newspaper Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian ruled out the possibility of any haggle between Baku and Azerbaijan during Ilham Aliyev's visit to the United States. The Armenian Minister said the U.S. will not offer Baku support in the Nagorno Karabakh settlement in exchange for support in anti-Iranian campaign. "I do not think such haggling is peculiar to the U.S., moreover it cannot do any good," Vartan Oskanian said."I suppose the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs should carry out appropriate work with Azerbaijan to draw our positions together, since judging from the statements made by the Azerbaijani leadership this republic unlike Armenia has little aspiration for compromise," Vartan Oskanian said. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
