Armenia's Hymn Remains UnchangedDecember 22, 2006 - 14:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The RA National Assembly with 64 votes 'for and 5 'against passed in the second reading the Law On Hymn, which upholds the current hymn titled "Our Homeland" until the adoption of a new lyrics and music of the hymn. ARF Dashnaktsutyun stood against change of the hymn considering that actually the current hymn becomes temporary. The opposition did not support the bill either and did not take part in the voting.The adoption of the state hymn is dictated by the reviewed constitution adopted November 27, 2005. A contest was announced in 2006 but it failed to reveal a winner.
