RPA and Prosperous Armenia to cross swords in parliamentary election

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hnchakyan social-democratic party will run for parliament independently with proportional lists and hopes to overcome the 5 per cent barrier.



Women make 33 per cent of the proportional list of the National Democratic Party (leader Shavarsh Kocharian). The list counts 27 women out of 77 candidates. New Times party (leader Aram Karapetyan) has also submitted the proportional list including 62 candidates to the Armenian CEC.



According to the Economist Intelligence Unit, parliamentary struggle will develop between the Republican Party of Armenia and oligarch Gagik Tsarukyan's Prosperous Armenia, what will "offer the possibility of forming a coalition with a minor party, for example ARF Dashnaktsutyun."



The Central Electoral Committee has rejected registration of Yerevan Additional Law Enforcement Groups NGO as an observer.
