38 CIS IPA members to observe RA presidential election

PanARMENIAN.Net - 6 Armenian political parties united in one national democratic party, said Vazgen Manukyan, a presidential hopeful and leader of the National Democratic Union.



Formation of a new political force is a long process which will not be restricted to unification of 6 parties - the NDU, National State party, National Consent Vow, National Democratic Bloc, National Democratic Party, Constitutional Right union.



38 members of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly will observe the presidential elections. "The CIS assesses highly the Armenian electoral legislation, availability of electoral rolls in Internet and engagement of legal bodies into the election process," mission head Alexander Torshin said.



40 legal redress cars will be enabled during the elections, ABA/CEELI representative, member of Presidential Elections 2008 Legal Initiative Karen Andriasyan told a news conference on Thursday. The legal initiative was established in December 2006 and was first implemented during the May 12 parliamentary elections, Armenian media reports.
