Oskanian, CoE Commissioner discuss domestic situation in ArmeniaMarch 12, 2008 - 17:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian met Wednesday with Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr Thomas Hammarberg, and the delegation led by him.The parties touched upon the February 19 presidential election and recent developments in the republic. Mr Oskanian briefed on the March 1 events and on the situation after imposition of the emergency rule. "The limitations of freedom of media will be lifted one of these days," the FM said. Mr Hammarberg said he intends to meet with leadership and opposition representatives and also to attend hospitals and detention centers to have the real picture of the processes taking place in Armenia. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
