Repair works to launch at Akhuryan-1 Gyumri-Kars railway stationApril 10, 2009 - 20:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Repair works will soon launch at Akhuryan-1 Gyumri-Kars railway station, informed circles reported to PanARMENIAN.Net ''Cleanup works at the station are conducted every year, yet recently they've been conducted more often. Special machinery and tie gang might be delivered to the station in nearest future,'' the circles reported. Akhuryan-1 railway station is located at Gyumri-Kars line. Akhuryan-2 railway, adjacent to Turkey, is the last on the territory of Armenia. According to Azeri media-circulated information, Azerbaijan's Consul General in Kars, Hasan Zeynalov declared that repair-and-renewal operations were launched at Alijan frontier point, Armenian-Turkish border. Repair operations are conducted on the Armenian territory, in Turkey roads to Alijan are being repaired. In Soviet times, 3 frontier points existed on the Armenian-Turkish border: at the footbridge over Araks river, in Gyumri and on Artashat frontier detachment territory in the village of Margar, RA Ararat Region.
