The compromise was reached upon counting of rally participants which were less that 50 in number, and stipulating that rally participants continue their movement only upon the sidewalk. The march began 40 minutes late. Heritage rally is held in commemoration of 94th anniversary of Armenian Genocide. Rally participants addressed a letter to US President, calling on him to recognize the Armenian Genocide of 1915. The Armenian Genocide was acknowledged by 20 countries including Argentina, Belgium. Vatican, Venezuela, Germany, Greece, Canada, Cyprus, Lebanon, Lithuania, Netherlands Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Uruguay, France, Chili, Switzerland, Sweden. The Europarliament officially recognized the genocide in its resolution of Jun. 18, 1987.
