EU and Council of Europe observers arrives in YerevanMay 28, 2009 - 20:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's vice prime minister and minister of territorial administration Armen Gevorkyan received the delegation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and EU Committee of the Regions arrived in Armenia to observe forthcoming City Council of Elders elections, press office of the RA ministry of territorial administration reports. According to the vice prime minister, although only a third of Armenia's constituency live in Yerevan, but the event has the all-public importance, since the main political and economical life of the country is concentrated in the capital. He also expressed hope, that opposition will become represented in the City Council of Elders, which will make its work more transparent and efficient.
