BULENT ECEVIT OF 78 WITHDRAWAL FROM POLICY PREGNANT WITH CATASTROPHE FOR TURKEY

PanARMENIAN.Net - The financial and political crisis, caused by the prospect of holding pre-term parliamentary elections, becomes more acute in Turkey. At present nearly nobody doubts that the progressing Parkinson's disease will not let 78-year-old Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit rule until the end of the his term. Retirement, or the worse - decease of the veteran of the Turkish politics will mean catastrophe to Ankara, as just to Ecevit's personality the IMF gave the mighty credit of $16 billion to revive the dying Turkish economy. The prospect of getting further credits of unprecedented size depends first of all on the fate of the now ruling coalition. The observers forecast the alliance collapse and taking the real power by Vice-Premier of the National Party of Action. This can worsen Ankara's already chilly relations with the European Union.
