RA Parliament to debate problem of foreign language schools in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary of the Prosperous Armenia parliamentary group Aram Safaryan said that he cannot speak about the current political situation in Armenia instead of the radical opposition. “But as for the ruling coalition, specifically Prosperous Armenia party, we deal with intensive political activity,” Safaryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

According to him, Prosperous Armenia party is going to implement a range of events in the near future, including one jointly with the Republican Party of Armenia.

Commenting on the legislative activity of the coalition forces, Safaryan noted that several important bills will be discussed this week.

Specifically, the bill on introduction of amendments to the RA Law on Language will be heatedly debated by political forced during the upcoming RA National Assembly sitting, he said.

The bill submitted by the RA government foresees restoration of schools in the country, where lessons will be conducted in foreign languages.

“In my opinion, this issue will be discussed by parliamentary groups of the coalition forces, and we will express our position on June 6,” said Aram Safaryan.

As for the start of pre-election campaign of political forces, Safaryan noted that Prosperous Armenia does not deal with it and considers preterm elections to be impossible.
