AZERBAIJANI REPRESENTATIVES IN PACE HAVE AGAIN TORPEDOED THE INITIATIVE AIMED AT THE REGIONAL COOPERATION

PanARMENIAN.Net - The meeting of the members of the political committee of the organization with the representatives of Azerbaijani, Armenian and Georgian delegations took place on the last day of the meetings of the fall session of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. As CNA agency informs the monitoring process in the new countries, participants was discussed at this meeting. There was an exchange of views regarding the project on the preparation of the pact for the stability in the region of the South Caucasus, return of war captives and perspectives of the cooperation in a number of spheres. This pact was offered by Georgian delegation. The representatives of the political committee of PACE suggested including of the state on cooperation of the South-Caucasus countries in the sphere of economics, ecology and tourism in the Pact project. Armenian part was for this suggestion. Azerbaijani deputies were strongly against and stated that they would not discuss the aspects of economic cooperation until the territories occupied by Armenians were freed.
