PACE ARMENIAN DELEGATION MEMBER ELECTED MEMBER OF COMMISSION TO ANALYZE FULFILLMENT OF ENGAGEMENTS UNDERTAKEN BY GEORGIA WHEN JOINING CE

PanARMENIAN.Net - Member of PACE Armenian delegation, representative of "Dashnaktsutyun" fraction of the Republic of Armenia National Assembly Armen Rustamian is elected member of the commission monitoring Georgia on the subject of fulfillment its engagements undertaken at entry into CE. Appearing at the session of the Parliamentary Assembly dedicated to Georgia meeting its obligations, Rustamian stated it was necessary to consider the attitude towards ethnic minorities in the country. He especially dwelled upon the condition of the Armenians living in Javakhk and stressed the necessity to protect their rights. Let us remind that before the beginning of PACE session head of the Armenian delegation stated that deputies representing Georgia at the Assembly behave rather unfriendly towards Armenia at times. This in particular comes out during the discussions of the initiatives made by the members of the Azerbaijani delegation. He made it clear that such bahaviour may tell on the position of the Armenian representatives in the course of the discussion of the subject of fulfillment of the commitments undertaken by Georgia at entry into CE. At the same time he said, "although we have a few questions to the Georgians, we will approach them friendly taking into consideration they are our neighbours."
