Heritage party bill on Recognition of NKR’s Independence put on RA NA agenda

PanARMENIAN.Net - The 8th fall session of the 4th Armenian National Assembly kicked off on September 14.

Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said that the agenda of four-day sittings consists of three parts, the first one including 34 bills, the second not envisaging discussion of bills and the third consisting of 99 items, with 28 international agreements and treaties included.

He noted that Heritage party bill on Recognition of NKR’s Independence was also put on the session agenda, although the relevant committee has not given a positive conclusion on the bill.

For his part, head of Heritage party parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan noted that the group would not like the bill to be discussed so early.

Representative of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Supreme Body Armen Rustamyan stressed that the parliament will definitely reject the fill during its discussion. He added that the ARF Dashnaktsutyun supports NKR’s recognition, but not this way.

“Public demand is needed for recognition of NKR’s independence, otherwise Turkey and Azerbaijan can exploit the results of a similar voting,” Rustamyan said.
