Arevik Petrosyan’s resignation weakened pro-Kocharian bloc, Armen Martirosyan says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia is facing dynamic political changes, according to Heritage parliamentary group member Armen Martirosyan.

“The processes in Armenia are leading to regular parliamentary and presidential elections. As to Arevik Petrosyan’s resignation, it just weakened the pro-Kocharian bloc,” Martirosyan told journalists on September 28.

“However, I prefer to see an educated woman rather than Samvel Balasanyan at the post of vice speaker,” he added.

Martirosyan also noted that Heritage will not support Levon Ter-Petrosian’s candidature at the next presidential election, since the party will nominate its own candidacy – Raffi Hovannisian.

Nevertheless, he did not rule out that Heritage and the Armenian National Congress will run for parliament with a single list.
