RA NA parliamentary groups brief CoE Secretary General on reforms in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Members of the Armenian National Assembly Rafik Grigoryan, Naira Zohrabyan and Artsruni Aghajanyan met with Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland.

The Armenian side briefed the CoE Secretary General on steps taken by Armenia for the implementation of PACE resolution.

Thorbjorn Jagland said that Armenia has chosen right paths of reforms, but the pace of some reforms implementation is unsatisfactory. The CoE Secretary General displayed interest towards two important matters - imprisoned supporters of opposition and press freedom in Armenia.

Member of the Prosperous Armenia parliamentary group Naira Zohrabyan provided detailed information on resolution of these problems.

Referring to ratification of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols, Zohrabyan said that Armenia will resume the process, as soon as Turkey is ready to ratify the documents without preconditions, the RA NA press service reported.
