Gagik Minasyan: possibility of resumption of hostilities has reduced, but still exists

PanARMENIAN.Net - Member of the Republican Party of Armenia Gagik Minasyan said that the more Armenia is ready for a war, the more it will reduce the possibility of resumption of hostilities.

The last agreements of Armenia with its strategic partners as part of the CSTO allow being confident about our future from the point of view of securing peace in the region, Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan.

According to him, the country does its utmost to transfer the ceasefire regime in the Karabakh conflict zone into a peace.

However, Minasyan noted that one cannot be sure that hostilities will not be resumed.

“The possibility of resumption of hostilities has reduced, but it has not reached zero,” noted Minasyan.

He added that Armenia should react appropriately to provocations of Azerbaijan on the contact line of the Azerbaijani and Karabakh armed forces.

Referring to the Karabakh conflict settlement, Minasyan said that it should be resolved solely within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, while its resolution as part of other formats is unacceptable.

He noted that Armenia should increase its achievements in the OSCE Minsk Group, as well as present the real essence of the conflict in international organizations.
