DPA: Armenian authority’s failure to resolve social problems might lead to crisis

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian authorities’ failure to take constructive steps to resolve social problems and trigger economy development might lead to a crisis, according to Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA) leader.

“To prevent possible riots or immigration growth, Serzh Sargsyan must put an end to oligarchy and eliminate shadow economy, creating equal opportunities,” Aram Sargsyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

“Authorities’ attempts to force coalition parties into signing a memorandum stipulating support for a certain candidate two years before the elections are preposterous, for lack of guarantees the parties’ plans will remain unchanged, should the political situation alter. Besides it’s the popular support the President should hope for, rather than putting faith in political forces,” the expert noted.

“Prosperous Armenia would be right in stepping out of coalition, considering conditions laid down to those forced to sign the memorandum,” Sargsyan observed.
