ARMENIA JOINED IMF COMMON SYSTEM OF DATA DISTRIBUTION

PanARMENIAN.Net - YEREVAN, April 5. /Mediamax/. The process of Armenia's joining the IMF common system of data distribution completed.

Mediamax was informed today in the press-service of the Central Bank of Armenia that Armenia is the official member of the system from April 3. After joining the IMF common system of data distribution, the Central Bank of Armenia is responsible for the statistics of financial sector of the economy. From the first quarter of 2001 the Central Bank started implementation of a long-term program of measurements on improvement of bank and financial statistics.

The common system of data distribution of the IMF was established in December 1997, 28 countries are its members. Armenia became the 3rd CIS country to join the system. --0--
