ANC rally kicks off in Liberty Square of Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - A rally of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) has kicked off in Liberty Square of Yerevan.

A PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent reported from the scene that the rally was opened by Chairman of the Armenian National Movement board Aram Manukyan.

He congratulated the rally participants on “liberation” of the square, pointing to its importance for the Armenian people.

“Independence of the Republic of Armenia was declared here,” said Manukyan.

On April 28, the Armenian authorities for the first time allowed the opposition Armenian National Congress to hold its rally in Liberty Square of Yerevan after the March 1-2, 2008, events.
