Commissioner: to join EU, Turkey should have normal relations with neighbors

PanARMENIAN.Net - European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Mr. Stefan Fule, said that in order to join the European Union, Turkey should not only meet the requirements on all of 35 chapters but also establish normal relations with all its neighbors.

“Any country aspired to the EU should enjoy good relations with its neighbors and Turkey is not an exception,” Fule stated when commenting to a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter’s question at a news conference in Yerevan.

“Armenia and Turkey have advanced towards normalization and it’s regretful that the final move has not been done. Anyway, we are hopeful that the protocols on normalization of Armenian-Turkish relation will remain on the agenda and finally ratified,” he said.
