ANC, coalition dragging out time instead of settling problems – Heritage

PanARMENIAN.Net - The current authorities and the Armenian National Congress (ANC) are just dragging out time pretending to hold talks, according Heritage opposition party member Larisa Alaverdyan.

Commenting on the ANC’s decision to discontinue the dialogue, she said: “I think both sides just agreed to protract talks. Actually, the agenda consists of superficial issues while those really important for the Armenian nation are not included. This process is just a show.”

Meanwhile, member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia Hamlet Harutyunyan said that negotiations may be frustrated by any pretext. He emphasized that the arrest of ANC activist Tigran Arakelyan is not a national problem. “The court will decide whether Arakelyan is guilty or not. However, this case created a dangerous precedent for possible politicizing of any phenomenon in future,” Harutyunyan said.

The ANC refused to participate in the 7th meeting with the representatives of the ruling coalition on August 26.
