AZERBAIJAN TO GIVE UP MILITARY SOLUTION OF KARABAKH CONFLICT FOR ACCESSION TO EU, EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT MEMBER SAID

PanARMENIAN.Net - If Azerbaijan wishes to enter the European Union, it has to give up the idea of military solution of the Karabakh issue without a trace. Member of the European Parliament Demetrio Volchich representing Italy told "Zerkalo" Baku newspaper. "If someone says he cannot solve a conflict via peaceful means, he is not a bearer of the logic and does not share the philosophy of the EU. This refers to the Nagorno Karabakh problem, too," - he emphasized. In his words, even the European history knows a lot of conflicts that are a hundred times bloodier and which seem not to have an outlet. But each time Europeans finally found a compromise, refusing from strict evaluations and decisions. Speaking of the prospects of Azerbaijan's accession to the EU, the European parliamentarian deemed necessary to note that an indispensable condition for accession to the EU was absence of any military conflicts with adjoining and other states.
