Moscow doesn’t view EaP as anti-Russian initiative - expert

PanARMENIAN.Net - An expert at the Institute of Political and Social Studies of the Black Sea and Caspian Region disagrees that Eastern Partnership is viewed by Moscow as an anti-Russian project.

“As Russia’s Foreign Ministry stated, Moscow has no objections, believing post-Soviet countries have every right to pursue multisector policy, similarly to Russia,” Andrey Areshev told a news conference in Yerevan.

“Now, whether the project will be prospective is quite a different issue, as well as the feasibility of promises given as to fulfillment of certain economic and infrastructure projects,” the expert noted.

“EU’s having economy-related interests at South Caucasus bodes well, proving the Europeans have nothing to gain by massive destabilization in Nagorno Karabakh,” Areshev concluded.
