ARMENIA AWAITS ILHAM ALIYEV'S REPLY ON READINESS TO RESUME NEGOTIATIONS ON KARABAKH

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian called not to cherish big and unjustified hopes for the Genevan meeting of Armenian and Azeri Presidents Robert Kocharian and Ilham Aliyev. As he told Mediamax agency, today the Presidents will to all appearances exchange opinions without conducting any serious negotiations. "The principal question we would like to be answered is whether Ilham Aliyev is ready to continue the negotiation process beginning with the point it was broken off at. On the other hand, it is Ilham Aliyev's first meeting of such character and he may consider it premature to give a unique answer", - V. Oskanian said. He preferred not to comment on the steps to be undertaken by the Armenian party if I. Aliyev finally decides to resume the negotiations from the very beginning. "I think it would be possible to make conclusions upon completion of today's meeting", - Armenian MHA head said. To note, the Russian, French and US co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group participated in the meeting held in the Intercontinental Genevan hotel for the first several minutes.
