  Expert links Genocide bill to football diplomacy failure January 24, 2012 - 12:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Political analyst Sergey Minasyan links passage of the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial by the French Senate to failure of Turkey’s normalization policy with Armenia. As the expert told a press conference, Europe and the U.S. use the Armenian Genocide issue as a tool of pressure on Turkey, which can be avoided only through normalizing relations with Armenia. Mr. Minasyan further noted that France’s decision will play a major role in the legal and political field of Europe, as well as in Turkey-Europe ties. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
