PARLIAMENTARY MAJORITY SECONDS OMBUDSPERSON NOMINATED BY ARMENIAN PRESIDENT

PanARMENIAN.Net - The pro-authority majority of the Armenian Parliament seconds the candidacy of the ombudsperson proposed by President Robert Kocharian, representatives of pro-authority political coalition told journalists. It should be reminded that R. Kocharian has nominated President of the Fund against Legal Arbitrariness non-governmental organization Larisa Alaverdian, which has been engaged in human rights activities and promoted exchange of prisoners of war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, for the ombudsperson. Parliament groups and factions have to discuss the candidacy and present their opinion before February 10.
