ARMENIAN STUDENTS AGAINST ADOPTION OF NEW BILL ON MILITARY SERVICE

PanARMENIAN.Net - The students of Yerevan's higher education institutions speak against the adoption of the new bill On Military Service. In part, the students of the Yerevan State University (YSU) spread the statement appealing to review the points referring to education and science. They state as inadmissible the clause, according to which only under- and post-graduates will be provided with deferment for the military service. In the opinion of the students, the educational level of the Armenian army should not be raised at the expense of science. The statement does mention that the bill deprives the present and further generations of students of the possibility to become high-qualified specialists and impedes scientific efforts of young scholars. At the same time the YSU students censured inert and unscrupulous attitude of RA ministry of education and science toward this issue.
