Armenian men's national chess team defeats Azeris

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian men's national chess team has defeated the Azeri team with a score 2,5:1,5 at the Chess Olympiad in Dresden. Levon Aronyan-Teymur Rajabov and Tigran Petrosyan-Rauf Mammadov games ended in a draw; Vladimir Hakobyan defeated Shahruyar Mammadyarov 1:0.



The Armenian team, the reigning Olympic champion, along with the Russian team occupies top positions in the tournament chart.



So, after the 6th round Armenia and Russia have 11 points each, Germany, Ukraine, India, Israel, France, China and Romania came up with 10 points, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Greece, Netherlands, Spain, Vietnam, Belarus, UK and U.S. garnered 9 points each.



In the 7 th round, the Armenian team with meet with Russian chess players.
